HISTORY ON OUR MAGAZINE GENRE:

British Asian:

-        First developed in 1990’s where it became increasingly popular and broke through to mainstream.

-        This genre began to influence other mainstream artists such as, Bjork, and Bananarama who incorporated south Asian instrumentation tracks into their singles creating a variety of popular remixes.

-        Asian underground music has influenced a variety of current artists in main stream hip hop, R’n’B, and urban music such as: Timbaland, Britney Spears, and Missy Elliot.

-        There have been many break through artists who originated from this genre and have currently gone onto great success in America for example M.I.A and Jay Sean.
